Ridgid Conditions for Warranty
Changes in RIDGID Warranties
Lifetime Warranty Prior to September 2003 Product produced prior to September 2003 (All Grey Tools with orange trim ). If a customer presents a tool that was manufactured by Emerson, the product is eligible for limited lifetime warranty for manufacturing defects or workmanship without an LSA number or a receipt Lifetime Warranty Sept. 1, 2003 – Jan. 31, 2004 If a customer presents a tool with proof of purchase (valid receipt) between Sept. 1, 2003 and Jan. 31, 2004, they are eligible for limited lifetime warranty for manufacturing defects or workmanship without an LSA registration. Upon processing, always make a photocopy of the customer’s receipt.
-
3-Year Limited Warranty Feb 1, 2004 – current (not registered for LSA) Any RIDGID power tool product automatically receives a 3 year limited warranty from the date of purchase for manufacturing defects or workmanship. If no receipt is available, the tool is covered for 3 years from the date shown on the date code. (First two numbers indicate the year. Second 2 numbers indicate the week of the year. For instance, 0632 shows that the tool was produced in 2006 during the 32nd week of the year)
LSA (Life-time Service Agreement) If the product falls outside of the 3 year warranty, the tool must have an LSA registration in order to qualify for the Life Time Service Agreement. It’s important to confirm that the tool is registered under the Account Number provided by the customer, via the portal prior to working on the tool. Any registration discrepancies must be resolved prior to making the repair and filing the claim. When a customer register’s a tool, if they do not send in proof of purchase, their tool still only qualifies for the 3 year limited warranty. (3 year warranty tools do not show up in the portal’s LSA search engine) If a customer never registered their tool, they may still do so if they can present a proof of purchase (valid receipt) and today’s date is within 90 days of the original purchase date.
What is and is not covered All parts of the RIDGID lifetime service agreement only covers defects in workmanship or materials and normal wear items. It does not cover misuse, abuse, neglect, alteration or modification by other than an authorized service center.
90 Day Satisfaction Guarantee The customer may return the product to The Home Depot up to 90 days after the date of purchase for any reason for a full refund. Proof of purchase and all original equipment packaged with the original product must be presented at the time of the return.
RECON If a tool has the word ‘RECON’ stamped into the side of the housing, the tool only qualifies for a one year warranty from the purchase date. Proof of purchase (valid receipt) must be presented.
